Kampar River also known as Sungai Itek is located 20 minutes away from Gua Tempurung and a mere 26 km from Ipoh town, it offers Grade I to III rapids which is a popular white water rafting destination in Gopeng, Perak.
It is suitable for beginners to white water rafting. Even those who can't swim can still participate and have fun, provided that everyone follows the instructions of the guides. The 17km long river has 14 rapids in total. The waters are clear and cool, and the river banks are surrounded by the lush rainforests. Some parts of the river are surreal, shady and calm.
The main activity here is of course, white water rafting. You’ll have the thrills of tackling exciting rapids and floating down the clear water river amidst a lush rain forest. You will ride the continuous rapids graded from class I-III, and continue down river, passing by some old tin mining plains. Have fun during the rafting like doing some body-rafting or even take a spin in the raft with your head in the water....or just get to the traditional fun of a water fight with your fellow rafters.
